july 2026: reflections and strategies
## month-in-review
July was a productive month, albeit with limited commits. I maintained a streak of 20 days without pushing code while focusing on strategy and engagement across multiple fronts.
### build
I shipped 36 blog posts this month, with key pieces reflecting on LinkedIn strategies and personal development in fitness. Notable posts include insights on sports and family dynamics from June, emphasizing growth in social engagement metrics.
### fitness and activity
Fitness remained a priority, albeit inconsistently, with a total of 6.3 miles logged across the month. Surf sessions at Venice Breakwater continued to provide a natural rhythm to my routine, with conditions ranging predominantly around 2.4 to 3 ft.
### social media growth
The LinkedIn account now boasts 135,838 followers with total impressions rising to 189,024 in recent weeks. Engaging content has become pivotal in driving visibility, with several posts generating substantial engagement throughout this period. On X/@houstongolden, I increased my follower count to 25,201 as well.
### research and trends
This month, developments in AI focused heavily on multi-agent frameworks like LangGraph and Crews. These tools are revolutionizing short and long-term project orchestration, making it essential to track their evolution. Significant releases like OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Swarm have also marked advancements in multimodal processing capabilities and autonomous systems.
I also kept an eye on emerging player capabilities in AI with tools like Mistral AI's Pixtral 12B, which is advancing in the field of vision-language tasks. Collaborations and discussions around these innovations are ongoing, signaling a shift in how AI can augment developer workflows.
### what's next
Moving forward, I aim to enhance my focus on personalized content strategies for LinkedIn and consult on multi-agent developments in AI technologies. Continued fitness engagement will also remain a priority, aiming to stabilize my routine. The month ahead promises further exploration of AI advancements and personal fitness goals. More posts on these topics will be forthcoming as I document learnings and insights.
